Ural Airlines launches direct air service with Sukhum
On July 1, Ural Airlines successfully operated its first flights on the new routes Moscow (Domodedovo) – Sukhum and Yekaterinburg (Koltsovo) – Sukhum, marking the start of direct air service with the capital of the Republic of Abkhazia. Both flights were operated exactly on schedule and with 100% load factor – interest in the new destination proved to be predictably high.
"The launch of flights to the capital of Abkhazia is a significant step in the development of our route network. We see great interest in this destination and are pleased to offer passengers a convenient and safe way to travel," said CEO Kirill Skuratov.
Upon arrival, passengers immediately immersed themselves in the southern atmosphere: they were welcomed by the ensemble "Gortsy" (Highlanders) with traditional dances. As a treat, travelers were offered two traditional gastronomic symbols of the Republic: the delicacy adjinjukh – nuts in grape juice, and hot khachapur-boat.
