05.07.2019

Today, July 5th, the jubilee flight of Ural Airlines to the capital of China from Koltsovo International Airport will take place. Exactly ten years ago, the airline completed its first flight from Ekaterinburg to Beijing. The introduction of a regular flight in 2009 was of strategic importance for strengthening economic and cultural ties between China and the Ural region.

During this period, more than 370,028 people were transported, and the Chinese direction has become one of the priorities for the airline and airport. With the development of this direction, passengers from China got the opportunity to travel to Europe by the shortest route, and Russian citizens - directly to the capital of the People’s Republic of China.

It is noteworthy that in 2019 there are several more significant dates: the 70th anniversary of the founding of the PRC, the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and China, and the 10th anniversary of the opening of the Consulate General of the PRC in Yekaterinburg.

Geng Liping, Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Yekaterinburg, congratulated the airline: “Over the past ten years, Sino-Russian relations have been developing intensively. We achieved great success in cooperation largely thanks to the efforts of Ural Airlines. I am sure that Sino-Russian relations will continue to grow stronger, and Ural Airlines will make a great contribution to bilateral cooperation. We wish all the employees of the airline great success and good luck in their work! ”

Commenting on the 10th anniversary of the flight, Kirill Skuratov, First Deputy General Director and Commercial Director of Ural Airlines, said: Ural Airlines is one of the first Russian airlines that connected the regional centers of Russia with the Chinese provinces. We established air transport links between the Ural region and China, and also implemented a program for the development of international transfer air transportation through a single hub - Koltsovo Airport. Connecting flights from Beijing to Rome, Paris and Prague through Yekaterinburg are open. In the Russian direction, the greatest interest among Chinese tourists is associated with Moscow and St. Petersburg. Thank you for your support and congratulations on the jubilee flight of the Consulate General of the People's Republic of China in Yekaterinburg, Koltsovo Airport, as well as our passengers! ”

The executive director of Koltsovo Airport PJSC, Alexey Piskunov, emphasized: “China is a strategic destination at Koltsovo Airport and one of the main components of the air passenger transfer transfer flow. Thousands of Chinese tourists use the airport for transfers on their journey, and it is Koltsovo that often becomes the only place they meet the Urals and Russia as a whole. We have created all the conditions for a comfortable stay of passengers from the Middle Kingdom, we are waiting for them and are always glad to see them. ”

A friendly environment has been created at Koltsovo Airport for tourists from China. The airborne harbor is equipped with navigation in Chinese, the flight board at the airport complex is duplicated in English and Chinese, and announcements of flights to China sound, including in the national language of this country. In addition, airport cafes and restaurants offer guests from the Middle Kingdom dishes of their national cuisine, and the menus are translated into Chinese.

Recall that the flight from Yekaterinburg to Beijing is operated up to five times a week. Ural Airlines also operates flights from Koltsovo Airport to other cities in China: Harbin and Ordos.
