On October 2, 2019, a unique meeting took place at school No. 546 of St. Petersburg - a lesson in courage “Heroes of our time!”. The heroes were the crew members of flight U6-178 of Ural Airlines: commander Damir Yusupov, senior cabin crew Dmitry Ivlitsky, cabin crew Yana Yagodina, Aliya Slyakaeva, Nadezhda Vershinina and Dmitry Goncharenko. 48 days ago, they saved the lives of 226 passengers by landing a plane with two failed engines on a cornfield, without releasing the landing gear and evacuating in just one minute.

The head of the Federal Air Transport Agency Alexander Vasilyevich Neradko, the general director of Ural Airlines Sergey Skuratov attended the courage lesson “Heroes of Our Time” as guests of honor. In his greeting, Alexander Neradko praised the actions of the flight and cabin crew and noted that these are the heroes of our time, on which boys and girls should be equal. Sergey Skuratov talked about how important it is to study well, and that only those who study well and excellently are accepted as pilots.

In August 2019, school No. 546, with an in-depth study of subjects of the artistic and aesthetic cycle of the Krasnoselsky district of St. Petersburg, approached the head of the Federal Air Transport Agency with an initiative to hold a meeting between school students and members of the airliner crew who supported her.

The students looked forward and carefully prepared for the event. Conducted thematic lessons about the profession of aviation specialists. Especially for the heroic crew, boys and girls drew and made a whole gallery of drawings and crafts: with airplanes, sky, pilots and, of course, corn. Heroes were greeted with applause and giant letters on the windows "Let's go to the sun !!!". The whole school clung to the windows, welcoming the valiant crew. The guys were able to chat with crew members, take pictures, participate in a quiz from the crew. The most resourceful received memorable gifts from the hands of heroes. Three hundred schoolchildren took part in the event. An online broadcast was also conducted, in which part-time participants were one and a half thousand students of the school.
