What is forbidden to carry on the plane in baggage?

The following are prohibited for carriage, both in hand luggage and in checked baggage of a passenger:

  • Explosives, explosives and objects stuffed with them
  • Compressed and liquefied gases
  • Flammable liquids
  • Flammable solids
  • Oxidizing substances and organic peroxides
  • Toxic substances
  • Radioactive materials
  • Caustic and corrosive substances
  • Poisonous and toxic substances

It is also strictly prohibited to carry in checked baggage:

  • Incapacitating agents, such as mace gas (nerve agent), pepper spray, etc., containing irritating or paralytic substances are prohibited from being carried in personal items, checked baggage or carry-on baggage
  • Attache cases with security devices, special boxes, cash briefcases, etc., which contain dangerous goods such as lithium batteries and/or pyrotechnics, are completely prohibited for transportation by air
  • Transportation of small mobile devices with lithium batteries with a specific battery power of over 100 Wh: electric scooter, electric scooter, Segway
You are only allowed to carry one spare battery with a capacity of no more than 300Wh* , or two spare batteries , each of which does not exceed a capacity of 160Wh* . Electronic devices powered by lithium batteries should be completely turned off (not in standby or low power mode) and placed in protective packaging to prevent inadvertent activation or damage.

Portable electronic devices such as cameras and camcorders, mobile phones, laptops for personal use containing lithium-ion batteries must be carried in carry-on baggage, provided:

  • The capacity of each lithium-ion battery should not exceed 100 Wh
  • batteries must meet the test requirements of Part 3, Subsection 38.3 of the Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods - UN Manual of Tests and Criteria

Spare batteries for such devices must be individually protected from short circuits by placing them in the original packaging or by insulating the contacts.

Products containing lithium-ion batteries, the main purpose of which is to power other products (portable chargers - power banks), must be carried only in hand luggage.
